Bike the Des Plaines River Trail Meet at 8:45 am and promptly depart at 9:00 am from the Half Day Forest Preserve, from the first parking lot. It is approximately 1 mile north of Half Day Rd. We will meet after the ride for lunch around 12:00pm, location TBD. Ride length will be as you prefer, 20-30+ miles. The trail surface varies from blacktop to crushed gravel- cross bike or fat ties preferred. Road bike OK but not ideal. The terrain meanders through savannah's, oak forests, mild hills, river scenes. All participants must abide by the LPSC Cycling Policies NOTE: If you need Bike prep assistance/maintenance help, then contact bike coordinator and arrive 30 minutes early. Proper tire pump pressure and seat height can vastly improve the ease and speed of your ride. TIP: Poorly inflated tires is the most common hindrance to easy riding, so get them pumped up the day prior, don't wait. Your tire pressure is printed right on the tire.
